The much anticipated Black Comedy Awards are back!!!
The nominees were announced at The Black Comedy Awards Nominees Soiree on 16th July 2013 at the Ramada Encore London West.
A further very special announcement to the general public was made in the grandest of fashions with a unique and fantastic launch of the nominees and voting process at Buckingham Palace on 26th July 2013.

The Event – Thursday 19th December 2013
You will have a fantastic opportunity to be part of a unique night to celebrate, honour and laugh with the funny men and women who had audiences roaring with laughter in 2012 and 2013.
Not only will they be combined with a festive Christmas Party, they will also mark the 10th anniversary of the eagerly anticipated awards ceremony.

Curtis Walker started in comedy in the later Eighties, as half of the double act Curtis & Ishmail, alongside a comic called Ishmael Thomas. The pair hosted the second series of the BBC stand-up show Paramount City in 1991. He was also in the cast of BBC 2’s black sketch show The Real McCoy, which started in the same year, and co-hosted Blouse And Skirt with Gina Yashere in 1996. Walker was the voice of Carlton in the CBBC’s children’s comedy series Kerching, has appeared in Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive, the Lenny Henry Show and Ed Stone is Dead and has a role in the 2007 film Mutant Chronicles.As a stand-up, he is a regular on the Jongleurs circuit and performed a one-man show entitled Right Now. Richard Blackwood claims he always wanted to be a performer. His inspiration has come from other comedians like Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock, and his comedic style can be described as an amalgam of these three, with a healthy dose of African-Caribbean and South London humour.After graduating with a business degree, he did a one-off gig at ‘The Spot’ in Covent Garden, and from there his popularity grew. Special P began his comedy career writing material for other comedians. However, he had such a natural talent and special ability to make people laugh that it was suggested to him that he use his charm and wit and get up on stage and perform the material himself. Jee Esien attended Raine’s Foundation School and initially studied law before giving up to study drama, graduating from Guildhall School of Music Drama. She came to prominence in the BBC hidden camera show, 3 Non Blondes, having also appeared in other television series such as The Fast Show and The Bill.In 2006 she wrote and starred in her own comedy sketch show called Little Miss Jocelyn, a second series of which aired in January 2008. Walker was the voice of Carlton in the CBBC’s children’s comedy series Kerching, has appeared in Rob Brydon’s Annually Retentive, the Lenny Henry Show and Ed Stone is Dead and has a role in the 2007 film Mutant Chronicles.As a stand-up, he is a regular on the Jongleurs circuit and performed a one-man show entitled Right Now.
