David Cameron & Gurcharan Singh

Just a few hours to go now. The panellists are nervous. They've been out campaigning all day. They know this is the final debate between them. They know the nation's focus is on them.

Political ambitions and dreams could be made or broken.

Will there be any gaffe's made, that the media and voters will seize upon ?

There is only one way to find out, since this won't be on TV.

Or on the radio.

Forget about the hindrance of 76 rules and regulations.

This is freedom of speech at it's very best where the voters get to grill their prospective MP's.

Who will leave as 'brown toast' ?

This general election debate is live and exclusive in Southall at Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College on Tuesday 4th May 2010.

Come along, enjoy and participae in what promises to lively and exciting exchanges at this important hustings debate which could determine the political future of all 5 candidates, their constituency and crucially who will govern us all, wherever we live, over the next 5 years.

In order to assist open minded voters, we have invited  a diverse and interesting panel of candidates representing as wide a spectrum of the political landscape as possible, including all candidates standing for Ealing Southall, namely, the Christian Party, Conservatives, English Democrats, Green party, Labour and Liberal Democrats.

Please click the name of the confirmed speakers below for further information on them and their policies :

Gurcharan Singh (Conservative)

Nigel Bakhai (Liberal Democrats).

Sati Chaggar (English Democrats) and Mehboob Anil (Christian Party) have also been invited.

Mr Virenda Sharma (Labour), the sitting MP is standing as well as Suneil Basu (Green party). Both have declined to attend. It is apparent that both have regularly declined to attend hustings debates during this campaign. Whilst that is entirely their perogative it is very disappointing that the constituents and voters of Ealing Southall are being denied the opportunity to listen to and question them, especially their sitting MP Mr Virenda Sharma in a public forum ahead of such an important General Election.

The Liberal Democrats are the second biggest party in Ealing Southall based upon the 2005 General Election, with the Conservatives in 3rd place. Judging by all recent national opinion polls this would appear to be a battle between the Liberal Democrats v Conservatives, so it is fantastic that those two candidates are not shying away from giving the voters the opportunity to hear them debate and grill them on any topics they wish to.

N.B. Following the experience of the vibrant, lively and very well received Hammersmith debate on 30th April it is clear the debate whilst touching on local issues, is just as likely to focus on discussion of national issues of interest to all voters regardless of where they live.
