Tiemo Talk of The Town are delighted to announce their return to the political fray in 2010 with a double header of West London General-Local Election hustings debates.

With the upsurge in Liberal Democrat support following Liberal Democrat Leader Nick Clegg’s stunning victory in the 1st ever Leaders debate on 15th April, the outcome of the 2010 is ever more in doubt and is far from the two horse race many commentators forecast.  Who knows,  the Liberal Democrats could even form the next Government should the Clegg bounce continue unabated in the countdown to May 6th Election day.

Away from the hype and focus on the “big 3” leaders, Tiemo Talk of The Town recognize that for local voters, it’s who and what their local candidates stand for that matters to them. When all is said and done, once elected, these are the people who will have a direct say and impact on issues in Ealing and Hammersmith, which could affect residents directly.

Tiemo are pleased to be partnering with Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College for these debates. Ealing, Hammersmith & West London College’s Student Union President Sumaya Dahdouh said, “We are really pleased to be hosting this debate at such an exciting time for politics.  We are encouraging our students to attend so that they can listen to what their local candidates have to say about issues that affect them, their college and their local community. Most importantly, we hope the debate will stimulate our students into thinking about what politics is about, how policies affect them and encourage them to register to vote.”

For those readers not yet registered to vote please note that the deadline for registering was Tuesday 20th April 2010. The following website 'About My Vote' contains comprehensive and easy to follow guidance on how you could register.
