Educationalist, Writer and Broadcaster

Sandra Richards, PhD., has become one of the busiest UK based female self-development professionals. She is a humble trailblazer setting the benchmark for teaching accomplishments personally and professionally that lead the way in terms of styles of delivery, innovation, quality, evaluation, academia, parenting and meditation with music and movement.  Her latest contribution to excellence is The F.O.R.M.U.L.A. a model of inclusive practice.

 

A sincere and committed social scientist, her primary areas of interest and expertise are in providing effective strategies for empowerment through personal growth and professional development.

 

A school governor for over 10 years and a member of the local authority appeals panel.  After a period studying law Sandra became actively involved in community development with particular concern about the underachievement of African Caribbean male students.    This led her to work in the public sector, training school governors and school management staff.  In an attempt to merge professional development with personal growth she gained qualifications in professional development, business administration and quality assurance.

 

In 1994 she started Reaching Out Development Services offering self-development and enterprise training, competence based NVQ assessment and quality assurance.

 

In 1999 Sandra was awarded a Masters in Education from the Open University and then began to write her unpublished work, which introduces strategies for work life balance, personal growth and success based on traditional spiritual practices.

 

Her doctoral research has revealed a model of socially inclusive practice that enables teachers and other practitioners to apply the current government policy agenda of inclusive education.

 

Sandra left her career as an executive in the private sector to commence consultancy as an educational specialist in the area of raising achievement and widening participation for disadvantaged groups.


In 2006 Sandra produced a series of workbooks that complement the education CD series.  These include a parenting framework and self discovery questions to assist the journey to empowerment. 

 

Recent media appearances included being the main guest on the Geoff Schumann show on BBC Radio London on 3rd September to share her views on solutions to educational problems facing people in society. Sandra writes regular columns for Nex Generation magazine and appears on her own internet radio show every Saturday morning between 9-12Noon on colourfulradio.com
