Le Mar & Richard Blackwood, followed by Q & A with the film's hard hitting, controversial writer Sharon Foster, winner of
the Dennis Potter Award 2006.
This special free screening marked the 1st anniversary
today of Talk of The Town and formed part of Rich Mix's Black History Month programme. Such was demand to attend
this event, Rich Mix took the unprecedented step of cancelling a scheduled film and showed Shoot The Messenger simultaneously
on 2 screens, followed by a combined Q&A session with Sharon Foster for both audiences.
Shoot The Messenger has divided opinion within the community
and continues to be the topic of heated debate.

THE PLOT
Joe (David Oyelowo) is a teacher
with a mission. He's determined to save the black youngsters at his school from a life of gangs, crime and underachievement
– whether they like it or not.
But when a seemingly minor incident rapidly escalates out of control and he loses
his job, he turns against his own community.
